Description
Serger Bootcamp is a three-session class that will demystify sergers and help you get the best results from them.
Each class session is 90 minutes long and taught virtually on Zoom.
- In the first session, you learn serger basics, the various types of serger stitches, and how to serge seams.
- In the second session, you learn how to adjust the serger for the types of fabrics and projects you’re working on. You’ll also learn how to adjust the thread tensions on your serger to obtain the best quality stitches.
- In the third session, you’ll put your skills into action by making a T-shirt, including serging opposing curves, attaching neckbands, and serging hems.
After the class, you’ll have access to the demonstration videos to watch at your leisure, as well as Zoom videos of the live class sessions to download and keep. You’ll also get an eight-page “cheat sheet” (PDF) with guides to serger settings and techniques.
Skill Level: Beginner-Intermediate. You should have basic skills with a conventional sewing machine and have completed at least one sewing project. However, prior experience with a serger machine is not necessary.
Note: Class session times are United States Pacific Time (PST or PDT depending on season).
